Why Start Your Sourdough Journey?

Delicious - Homemade - Gut Loving - Ingredients Only

Better For Your Body

Traditional sourdough is slow-fermented, which helps break down gluten and phytic acid, making it easier to digest and more nutrient-available than commercial bread.
No additives. No preservatives. Just flour, water, salt and time — the way bread was meant to be.

Back to Basics

Making sourdough slows you down. It teaches patience, presence, and respect for the process.
There’s something deeply grounding about feeding a starter, shaping dough, and baking bread with your own hands — especially in a world that moves fast and eats faster.

Ingredients Only

Home-baked sourdough isn’t just food — it’s an act of nourishment.
Whether it’s for your family, your friends, or yourself, sourdough brings warmth, intention, and a sense of pride that no supermarket loaf can match.

A little bit about me....

Hi, I’m Jess — the human behind Florence Doughmestic Goddess.

I started baking sourdough at home out of curiosity (and a little rebellion against supermarket bread), and quickly fell in love with the process. The quiet rituals, the imperfections, the science-meets-art magic — it stuck.

After sharing hundreds of starters locally and helping beginners find confidence in their kitchens, Florence Doughmestic Goddess grew into a place for simple, approachable sourdough — without the intimidation.

Good bread. No gatekeeping. No pressure. Just real food and real joy.
